Our mission at K&F is to be known for the highest quality coffee, as well as building strong relationships with our customers and business partners alike. To make this happen, we demand the world’s finest beans and exclusively select Arabica beans grown at the highest altitudes around the world. Our coffee beans are delivered fresh to K & F’s Portland roasting house, where each sample is then meticulously ‘cupped’ (or taste-tested) to ensure the highest quality, and the finest texture, flavor and aroma. We expertly roast more than 70 regular and decaffeinated blends and varietals, including an ever-changing assortment of special harvests. Our experience in the coffee industry spans three generations of tasting, buying, roasting and brewing. K & F Select Fine Coffees was founded in 1983 by Don Dominguez and his father, Bud. Don’s great-grandfather, Captain Fredrickson, sailed the world in the late 19th century, buying the world’s finest coffees, lending his passion to Bud. Thereafter, Bud studied the coffee business from the turn-of-the-century master roasters of San Francisco, and spent the next 50 years perfecting his skills in tasting, buying, and blending the world’s premium coffees. Today, Don Dominguez is proud to carry on the torch, offering the Portland community exceptional coffees and exceptional service. Don and his dedicated staff are determined to provide coffees that amaze and delight. They are united in their passion for quality coffee and strive to maintain high standards in progressive methodology and best practices in sustainability.
